Parish Administrator's Welcome

Message from the Parish Administrator, Rev. Fr. Dr. Adolphus Chukwuka

My dear Parishioners and friends of St. Basil’s Church,

I arrived at your parish community and assumed the position of your Parish Administrator on August 1, 2025 on the mandate of Archbishop Marcel Damphousse and his team of  Archdiocesan Curia. I arrived here directly from my earliest pastoral assignment at St. Finnan’s Basilica, Alexandria, Ontario.

I am a very happy and dynamic Catholic priest in good standing. I consider myself very much privileged to be assigned to you as your parish Administrator. I have the impression that this parish is a melting point of many intellectuals and professionals who are volunteers in various areas of pastoral ministries in the parish. After some weeks of reviews and prayerful reflections, I decided to continue with all the policies of the previous pastoral administration with a very minimal addendum. We have continued our parish daily Eucharistic celebration at 9:00am with an addition of daily Rosary at 8:30am before the mass. We have also sandwiched the Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesdays at 8:00am with Benediction at 8:45am before 9:00am Morning Mass. I promise you a good pastoral presence and availability. I am open for pastoral dialogue and catechesis as needed by the parishioners.

The church is for the saints and sinners. Everyone is welcomed to participate in the life of our parish community. The saints are encouraged to keep shining in their saintly robes and activities while the sinners are welcome to listen and follow Jesus Christ, our Lord and Master. No one has ever listened and followed Jesus and remained the same.

I would want all our parishioners to join in the Archdiocesan Pastoral plans and invitation, To Go Out, Go Deep and Go Together in our daily pastoral commitments and activities.

God is good, All the time!
Fr. Adolphus Chukwuka
