Tulipathon 2026

MHI Tulipathon

Sunday, May 24, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

Commissioners Park (across from Dow’s Lake)

It's Tulipathon time! Each May, Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) hosts a fun and feel-good 3KM walkathon fundraiser that unites faith communities and MHI supporters to meaningfully respond to the housing insecurity and homelessness crisis in Ottawa.

Every dollar raised goes straight to tenant rent subsidies, part of the more than $400,000 that MHI distributes annually to help low-income families and individuals.

You can support affordable housing in three ways:

1. Come out on Sunday the 24th and join the St. Basil’s Team!

Arrive early to register and get your Tulipathon T-shirt. The walk starts at 3 pm, with activities for kids and a reception for everyone.

2. Donate to St. Basil’s Tulipathon Team at MHI

· through MHI’s website External link opens in new tab or windowhttps://pro.gofundme.com/team/811680

· through St Basil’s Parish (please indicate “Tulipathon”)

3. Spread the word among your friends and family.  Encourage them to join the walk &/or donate to MHI.

Winter Clothing Donations - Thank You!

Thank You!

On behalf of the Knights of Columbus St. Basils Jubilee Council #18772 we again wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for the support of the parish to make our coats drive for those released from courthouse cellblock a success!

Sgt. Denis McKinnon, pictured with members of the Knights was overwhelmed by the generosity we have shown to those who are released from court. He also advised that anything they do not need will be donated to other charities. In addition, he hopes to stop by in person for a parish event to thank the community for our generosity.

A special thanks to Aaron Ludmer for developing our graphics; our custodian Ibrahim who assisted us with moving items when needed and assisted with the delivery. A thanks to my brother Knights and most importantly heartfelt thanks to St. Basil’s parish community. Without your support this project would not be possible! THANK YOU!

Cultural Fair

The Mission and Social Justice Committee invites all parishioners to come on down to the parish hall after the 10 AM Mass on February 15th to celebrate the wonderful diversity of our St. Basil's community.

Parishioners, we invite you to participate and help us appreciate the beauty of the country and the culture where you got your start.  Expect displays of pictures and artifacts, small food samples, music, and whatever participants feel will help us know them and their culture better.

To find out more about participating, please contact one of us on the planning group: Chantal Balthazar, Margie Bott, Mary Anne Burke, Pat Russell, Rosemary Williams and Judy Young.
