Imagine St. Basil's... Approved Changes
The Imagine St. Basil's Design Team's proposals for the future of St. Basil's acknowledge and reinforce the strengths and assets of the parish. You will notice that the proposed changes have less to do with the many dreams we hope to realize and more to do with how we go about realizing them.
Naming of Ministries
It was obvious that the term "Commission" to distinguish the four areas of focus was poorly understood. No one seemed to know even remember where this term originated. The Design Team proposes a change to the more conventional term of a central "Ministry" with the components referred to as "Committees".
The Team recommends that the names for the four central ministries clearly reflect their function. With one exception, the components of the former "Commissions", now referred to as Ministry, are the same.
The vibrancy of Parish Life is the result of four ministries working within and in collaboration with one another:-
Liturgy Ministry <-> Worship Commission

Faith Formation Ministry <-> Education Commission

Outreach Ministry <-> Christian Services Commission

Parish Vitality Ministry <-> Community Life Commission

Liaison with the Four Parish Life Ministries
St Basil’s is blessed with many actively participating parishioners. They take responsibility for all aspects of parish life through twenty-eight ministries or groups. The ministries are grouped into four Parish Life Commissions: Christian Services, Worship, Education and Community Life.
Pastoral Council members will bring issues of ministry concern to the Council. See the "Parish Life" tabs for more on the 4 Commissions.
